All communities thrive when we come together to reduce drug and alcohol abuse. The Drug Free Communities (DFC) Grant aids the Bienville Community Coalition’s mission to combat underage drinking and prescription drug abuse in Bienville Parish, a high-need community. The program aims to address growing needs in this region, specifically when it comes to substance abuse.
Community Support Programs works with the Bienville Community Coalition to identify essential resources and tools that help reduce substance abuse. By providing these services, we are unifying Bienville Parish for a better future.
“What makes this program effective is that the Bienville Parish Community Coalition plans and implements strategies that prevent and reduce youth substance use and its associated consequences through community and parish-wide collaborative efforts. While the focus is on youth, programs and services also target adults, businesses, the faith-based community, families and other indicated populations.” – Jill Waltemate, Program Director
